Network for Ethical Treatment’s first program is the Frontline Intensive Trauma Treatment (FITT), which is designed specifically for the Crisis Response Community. FITT focuses on providing first responder trauma assistance through EMDR intensives tailored for first responders and other public safety and frontline professionals.
FITT's program model includes:
- Culturally competent therapists who are EMDRIA Certified
- Collaboration and connection to peer support facilitated by both active and retired public safety professionals through vetted peer support organizations
- EMDR intensives delivered within the CCIT model
- The CCIT model encompasses recommendations and referrals, fostering collaboration with non-EMDR therapists and diverse mental health or psychiatric treatment providers, ensuring clients can access the treatment that aligns with their clinical needs.
- A comprehensive research and evaluation process
- Trauma education resources
A thorough explanation and guide to FITT's operations is coming.
Briefly:
Agencies or individuals seeking an EMDR intensive will contact our leadership team. Prospective clients will be provided with a list of vetted FITT clinicians, including culturally competent therapists, and/or be supported to connect with other services as appropriate to the individual's needs.
FITT seeks to access agency and donor funding to cover some or all of the costs of the EMDR Intensive Treatment, including crisis response community initiatives.
FITT will compensate therapists for the services rendered to funded FITT clients.
Clients seeking to self-pay for their treatment will follow the same intake process and will pay FITT for services rendered; FITT will pay the clinician.

FITT clinicians meet rigorous standards for both their clinical skills and their cultural competency within the crisis response community.
If you are a clinician with first responder or frontline lived experience, or if you possess strong clinical expertise in serving first responders, we would love to connect with you! We are particularly interested in establishing partnerships with EMDR therapists and other culturally competent therapists who utilize diverse modalities, and who are eager to collaboratively support intensive providers. Our goal is to ensure that FITT clients receive the best options for ongoing first responder trauma assistance.
First Responder Advisory Team recruitment is essential for fortifying collaborative relationships within the Crisis Response Community. This includes raising funds to support initiatives that provide first responder trauma assistance and launching pilot programs aimed at integrating culturally competent therapists into our support systems.
As trauma-competent mental healthcare is increasingly hard to access in our current systems, we are building back better: Therapists, frontline workers, trauma experts, and collaborative partners are working to establish ethical systems to access effective care.
